Surfing lesson, some hike's and a Concert:)

A couple mondays ago, I took a surfing lesson. It was pretty sweet:) I used a board the instructor provided, one of those "foam Boards" It's like a really strong styrafoam. So it's really floaty, but not manuverable at all. I caught a few waves with it though, that was pretty sweet:) I still need to work on the landings. Haveing to fall off of something to stop, for some reason just doesn't make to much sense:) Now, I can fall off of it no worries, trying to catch a wave, or standing up....but haveint to at the end of your run, that's just silly:) I need to remember I should fall with more then a few inches of water left as well, I was just so happy I lasted so long on the waves:) Didn't really think much about the ending:) It was still a blast though. I have my own boards, one of my buddies hooked me up with it. It's a few inches shorter then the one the instructor trained me on, it's amazing the difference in ease there is. I haven't been able to get up fully on my board yet, I just need some good waves for it:)

I've went on a few hikes up into the hills. There's an awesome trail, 7 falls, that runs up one of the creeks. It's pretty neet, since there's water the whole year, on most of it at least:) There's a couple areas where the water pools up, and some sweet small waterfalls. on two of them you can use it as a slide:) That should be a lot of fun:) We wussed out the 2 times we've been, the sun wasn't out, and the water is just a tad bit cold:) We did sit in the pool for a little bit though, that was pretty nice. We had a snake hanging out in the water with us for a little while, and they have some pretty cool Salamander's in the water out here...plus tons of PollyWoggs(that name is soo cool:) ), tadpoles. There were a few other hikers up there as well, then a bunch of knuckle head college boys running around jumping off of everything possible...that was a lot of fun to watch:) They were having a great time and trying to record each other's feat's. Of course making way to much noise. That's alright though, they didn't hang out to long and hey, they are allowed to have their fun to right? :)

I do have some pretty sweet photos, I'm still trying to remember how to post them up though:)

I went to the "Matisyahu" concert at the Santa Barbara Bowl last night. That was a pretty cool show. For those of you that don't know:) He's a pretty traditional Jewish dude, that totaly loved Bob Marely when he grew up. It's pretty interesting to see him all dressed up in the traditional outfit, but sing reggae with the accent and all:) We ended up liking the opening band a little bit more then him though. Some independent label "Michael Franti& Spearhead" I liked their style of reggae a lot more. We had tickets for the Pit section, so we were waayyy up front about 5 people fromt he stage, that was pretty cool. People were smoking pot something fierce, eh...what can you expect from a Reggae concert(though they did it a lot as well for the Weezer concert as well:) ) :) All in all it was a good night and good music.
